Team Hollyrock is on a roll this season! Coming off a win at the first race of the season, reset the world record and now winning at the biggest diesel race ever! That's right! We won Indy!! The combining of Ultimate Callout Challenge and Firepunk's Outlaw Diesel Revenge is the best thing to ever happen to the sport. Can't forget to mention there were 5 dragsters competing!!! One of every power plant as well (Duramax, Cummins, and Powerstroke). We had our struggles but the weekend quickly turned around for us once we hit the track for Q2.
Track curfew was midnight, and I made my second qualifying attempt at 11:56pm.... and what a way it was to end the night. 4.01 @ 186mph!!! New class record!! That put us #1 qualifier and we had a bye run first round on Saturday morning. In between first and second round we had a rain shower and didn't end up running until around 7:30. That put me up against Paul Vasko, fellow duramax, and man was it a good side-by-side run! Oh, and I reset the class record AGAIN! 4.008 @ 188mph!!! So close to running a 3 second pass at an all diesel event, maybe in Bowling Green?🤷🏼♀️
We got cut after that to allow the sled pullers to put on a show for us, so finals was set for 9am Sunday morning. My favorite guy to run next to, Jared Jones, who qualified right behind me with a 4.06. Unfortunately, Jared had issues as soon as the tree dropped. I slowed to a 4.20 after having to do some driving but a win light is a win light.
